The concept of fitrah represents one of the most fundamental principles in Islamic thought regarding human nature, yet its integration with contemporary developmental psychology remains insufficiently explored in the context of early childhood education (ECE). This study examines the theoretical convergence between the Islamic concept of fitrah and modern psychological frameworks, particularly those of Jean Piaget, Lev Vygotsky, and Abraham Maslow, in guiding early childhood educational practice. Employing a qualitative library research methodology, this investigation systematically analyzed classical Islamic texts, contemporary Quranic exegeses, and peer-reviewed empirical literature published between 2019 and 2024. Findings reveal a substantive alignment between fitrah-based principles and modern developmental theories, particularly in the domains of cognitive readiness, moral formation, and spiritual nurturing. The study concludes that an integrative fitrah-based pedagogical model offers a holistic foundation for ECE curricula that is both culturally grounded and empirically informed. Implications for educational policymakers, curriculum developers, and ECE practitioners in Muslim-majority contexts are discussed.
