MANAJEMEN MUTU PENDIDIKAN ISLAM BERBASIS TOTAL QUALITY MANAGEMENT (TQM): PERSPEKTIF ISLAM

Quality management in Islamic education remains a topic that demands continuous scholarly attention, particularly in an era characterized by rapid social and technological transformation. This study aims to examine the conceptual framework of Total Quality Management (TQM) as applied within Islamic educational institutions and to analyze its alignment with Islamic values and principles. Employing a library research methodology, this study systematically collects, examines, and synthesizes relevant academic literature, including books and reputable journal articles. The findings reveal that TQM principles encompassing customer focus, continuous improvement, and process orientation are substantially compatible with the Islamic concepts of ihsan, itqan, and maslahah. Furthermore, the implementation of TQM in Islamic educational settings requires a values-based adaptation that integrates spiritual accountability (hisab) alongside managerial efficiency. The study concludes that a TQM framework grounded in Islamic worldview offers a holistic and spiritually enriched model for improving quality in madrasah and Islamic boarding schools (pesantren).
