The Meaning Of School Vision And Mission In Building Vocational School Students' Learning Motivation

This study aims to analyze students' understanding of the school's vision and mission and its implications for the learning motivation of students in the Software Engineering (RPL) Department at SMK Negeri 1 Cipeundeuy. The study uses a qualitative approach with a phenomenological design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and document studies involving 12 students as the primary informants, along with supporting informants from the leadership and teaching staff. Data analysis was conducted using the Miles and Huberman interactive model, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions and verification. The results of the study show that students' understanding of the school's vision and mission shapes a sense of belonging, sense of purpose, and sense of direction, which significantly strengthen both intrinsic and extrinsic learning motivation. These findings confirm that the school's vision and mission not only function as normative documents but also as strategic instruments in reinforcement student learning motivation.
