Permata : Jurnal Pendidikan Agama Islam (Islamic Education Journal) is a National and International Journal that has open access and is rigorously peer-reviewed and published by the Islamic Education Study Program, Faculty of Tarbiyah, and managed by the Center for Research and Community Service (P3M) of Universitas Islam Bunga Bangsa Cirebon (UI BBC). The journal promotes research and scientific discussion on Islamic Religious Education in formal education, non-formal education, and informal education. The journal emphasizes aspects related to the study of Islamic Education in Schools, Colleges, Universities, and other Islamic Education Institutions such as Madrasah (Islamic schools) and Pesantren (Islamic boarding schools), Educational Curriculum, Educational Models and Methods, Educational Technology and Media, Teaching Materials and Educational Learning Resources, Educational Evaluation Systems and other related Islamic Education Sciences.

Types of Published Articles

Permata : Jurnal Pendidikan Agama Islam (Islamic Education Journal) is published either as a research article or a review article.

  1. Research articles report original research findings in Islamic Religious Education in formal education, non-formal education, and informal education. The research article should include a clear research question, methodology, results, and conclusion. The article should also provide a clear and concise discussion of the research findings, their implications, and their contributions to the relevant field of study. Permata : Jurnal Pendidikan Agama Islam (Islamic Education Journal) does not accept case studies unless it is a study that has a wide impact on the community or education. The total length of the manuscript, including references, must not exceed 8000 words.
  2. Review articles comprehensively review the existing literature on a specific topic in Islamic Religious Education in formal education, non-formal education, and informal education. Review articles should critically analyze and synthesize the literature, identify knowledge gaps, and suggest future research directions. The format and length of review papers are more flexible than research articles. Typical reviews are less than 12,000 words, including references.

All published articles in Permata : Jurnal Pendidikan Agama Islam (Islamic Education Journal) should be based on rigorous and ethical research and adhere to the highest standards of scientific integrity. The journal encourages the submission of articles that present innovative and original research and contribute to developing new theories, methodologies, and techniques.

Publication Frequency

Permata : Jurnal Pendidikan Agama Islam (Islamic Education Journal) publishes two issues per year (February, and August). The journal aims to provide timely and regular publication of high-quality research in the relevant fields of study.

Language

Permata : Jurnal Pendidikan Agama Islam (Islamic Education Journal) requires that all articles be written in the English language. Clear and concise language and adherence to proper grammar and spelling are encouraged.

Journal History

Permata has a rich history dating back to 2020 when Universitas Islam Bunga Bangsa Cirebon designated it as "Permata : Jurnal Pendidikan Agama Islam; E-ISSN 2746-6760" with publication in Indonesian. In 2024, the journal shifts its focus to promoting research from across the country and begins accepting only English-language manuscripts. Permata focuses on research that integrates different fields or subfields in study of Islamic Education in Schools, Colleges, Universities, and other Islamic Education Institutions such as Madrasah (Islamic schools) and Pesantren (Islamic boarding schools), as well as the study of the implementation of learning Aqidah, Sharia’, Ibadah, Al-Qur'an and Hadith, Morals and Ethics, Islamic History in Educational Institutions. Permata does just that to attract more international readers and writers. Permata is committed to promoting access to research and knowledge within the scientific community with limited access to scholarly journals.
